a. Android networking applications


This is the presentation about Android networking applications. Two different Android web app development setups are given: one is Eclipse/MyEclipse+Tomcat+JDK+Android SDK+MySQL, the second uses Google App Engine to work as web app server instead of Tomcat. The first configuration is recommended for now. Also, how to create a Google C2DM and use Google Web App Engine to create a simple web application are given in detailed steps.

b. Recommended Android Apps:

  1. AndExplorer.                                                                                                                      AndExplorer is a file manager/explorer. It allows browsing files/folders stored on device and sdcard. You may use it to browser the non-Market android app you copy to the sdcard folder and install it.   2. RepliGo Reader.                                                                                                                     RepliGo Reader is NOT free. But it may be the best versatile PDF ereader so far in the  Market. RepliGo Reader enables PDF viewing, annotating and form filling. Review documents on the go by adding highlights, cross outs, underlines, sticky notes, arrows, lines, ovals, rectangles, freehand drawings and text boxes. Comments are stored as standard annotations in the original PDF file.
    RepliGo Reader integrates seamlessly with Gmail, Dropbox, Evernote and numerous other applications.
